2. Your subscription
- You choose a box of 5, 8 or 12 meals a week, and which meals go in it. Add-ons are optional and are added to every box until you remove them.
- When you check out, you create an account and add a card on Stripe's secure page. Your order is confirmed by email.
- This is a weekly subscription. It carries on every week until you cancel it. There's no minimum term and no cancellation fee.
- Each week we send your usual box, unless you've picked different meals for that week, skipped it or paused.
- Prices are shown on the website and in your account, and include VAT where it applies. Delivery is free unless the website shows a delivery charge for your box size.
- Our founders' discount takes a percentage off the meals in your first box only. It applies once per customer.
3. When we charge you
- Nothing is charged when you sign up.
- Changes for a Sunday close at 11:59pm on the Wednesday before. We charge your card at about 1am on the Thursday for that Sunday's box.
- Payments are taken by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- If a payment fails, we'll email you and Stripe will try again. If we still can't take payment, we may not be able to deliver that week's box.
- If we change our prices, we'll email you at least 7 days before a charge at the new price. You can cancel before then.
4. Changing, skipping, pausing and cancelling
- You can change your meals, skip a week, pause for up to 4 weeks or cancel in your account, any time before the Wednesday 11:59pm cut-off for that Sunday.
- Your very first box can't be skipped, but you can change its meals or cancel.
- Cancelling stops all future charges. A box that has already been charged (after the Wednesday cut-off) is still cooked and delivered.
- Your cancellation rights. The usual 14-day right to cancel online purchases doesn't apply to fresh food that goes off quickly (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 28). That's why you can skip or cancel any week, online, without a fee, up to the cut-off.
5. Delivery
- We deliver on Sundays to the Plymouth postcodes listed on our website. We text you a 2-hour delivery window the day before.
- If you're out, we leave your box in the safe place you choose, in an insulated box with ice packs. Once it has been left there, it's your responsibility. Please put the meals in the fridge as soon as you can.
- Keep the meals refrigerated at 0–5°C and eat them by the use-by date on each tray.
- If we can't deliver because of something outside our control (for example severe weather), we'll tell you as soon as we can and refund you for anything we couldn't deliver.
6. If something's wrong
If a meal is missing, damaged, past its use-by date or not right, email us at hello@chopchaw.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery, with a photo if you can. We'll replace it or refund it.
This doesn't affect your legal rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, food must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
7. Allergens and ingredients
Each dish's allergens are shown on the website before you order, on our allergens page and on every tray's label. Our kitchen handles all 14 major allergens, including peanuts, fish and crustaceans, so we can't guarantee any meal is free from traces. If you have a serious allergy, please email us before you order.
We don't swap dishes without telling you. If a dish becomes unavailable before the cut-off, we'll replace it with another dish from the menu and show the change in your account, so you can pick something else before the cut-off.
8. Everything else
